Two technical webinars on the use of smaller-diameter, inner-grooved copper tubes in coils for air-conditioning and refrigeration application will be held on 14 and 22 June.
Suggested as one way to increase the energy efficiency of refrigeration and air conditioning products, the use of smaller-diameter copper tubes is the main topic of two technical webinars sponsored by the International Copper Association (ICA). More concretely, they will describe the recent developments in the use of smaller-diameter, inner-grooved copper tubes in evaporator and condenser coils.

Date and Time
The first webinar, titled “The MicroGroove Advantage: Achieving Higher Energy-Efficiency with Smaller-Diameter Copper Tubes”, will take place on Tuesday 14 June at 14:00 Paris time (CEST). It will update the information presented in the MicroGroove webinar from 15 December and answer many of the questions raised.
The second webinar, titled “OEM Product Design with MicroGroove Tubes”, is scheduled for Wednesday, 22 June at 13:00 New York time (EDT). It will present new content relating to the design and manufacture of heat exchanger coils.
“The ICA has sponsored research on the physical properties, design and manufacture of coils made from smaller diameter, inner-grooved copper tubes,” says Nigel Cotton. “Much of this research was performed in China and the results are not broadly known in the U.S. and Europe. These webinars are being sponsored by the ICA to bring U.S. and European designers up to speed quickly.”
